Just a 5-minute drive from our lovely vacation rental is Hill & Vine, one of our Fredericksburg favorites.
With a fabulous atmosphere and a thoughtful menu, this restaurant aims to please. It works as a great date night spot, but also as a place to take the kids.
We love to start our meals there with the cornbread and biscuit skillet -- great texture and flavor!
One of my favorite dishes to get here is the Smoked Carnitas Nachos. These include slow-smoked pork on top of delicious tortilla chips — and then the toppings come in. 😍 Smoked cheddar, queso blanco, tomatillo pico, lime crema, pickled fresnos and onions, avocado, herbed goat cheese, and cilantro, with a side of hatch chile salsa.
If you're able to go on a pretty day, enjoy the outdoor seating area. All tables have sun coverage and if you're lucky, you can access Das Bar Bus while you wait for searing, which is a fully-restored and converted 1974 type 2 Volkswagen microbus.
Hill & Vine doesn't accept reservations, but head on over and enjoy this fantastic Fredericksburg eatery. You won't be disappointed!
